Installing Windows XP once you have already installed Windows 7-Vista


Scenario..

Hmmm you have installed windows 7/Vista and now in parallel you also want to have windows XP. But Windows 7/vista doesn’t allow you to do that, Neither you can remove your windows 7 since it has a lot of application installed… So what to do..

Solution:

Use the following trick if you want to install XP after you have already installed windows 7/ Vista…

Tools Required :

Vista Boot Pro : here

Assumptions :

c:\ drive is your boot partition ( Generally it is c:\ only so need not check)

d:\ drive is where your Windows 7/Vista is installed

e:\ drive is where you have your XP installed

Steps :

  • Install windows xp using boot cd/dvd to a drive other than where 7/vista is installed.
  • Open windows xp and Install Vista Boot Pro and open it.
  • Goto system bootloader tab Choose vista boot loader , system partition then click install bootloader.
  • Goto manage os entries click add new os entries, os name , os type ,os drive ( Select the drive in which windows 7/vista is installed ) -> Apply upades
  • Click add os entry ,os name , os type ,os drive ( Select the drive in which is system partition) -> Apply upades .. (Do not get confused and select e:

Voila and you are done.. Try restarting and you’ll have both the OS….
