Job Description:-
PHP Developer This individual will serve as a Senior Developer responsible of the Internal Tools in the Capgemini's Hosting Practice, a division within Capgemini which out sources mission critical systems and support functions for our clients, hosting and managing the full lifecycle of large, crucial ERP-centric applications. The Internal Tools team is responsible for developing, improving and maintaining the set of applications used by the Hosting Practice including the Monitoring, Service Management and Knowledgebase tools. All the applications we support are custom developed web-based applications written primarily in PHP and run on Linux.
Specification / Skills / Experience
* Design and implement new tools and updates to existing tools.
* Work with clients to develop tools and features to solve business problems.
* Mentor existing development staff by teaching standards based development using open source tools
* Review code created by other developers to identify any functional or security related issues.
* Help implement enterprise wide system monitoring tool in a Linux environment to monitor production Windows and UNIX servers running a combination of SAP, SQL, and Oracle.
* Thorough knowledge of Linux operating system and familiar with Windows and Unix flavors like AIX, Solaris, and HP-UX
* Strong experience configuring, installing and troubleshooting in an LAMP environment
* Strong PHP Development experience with 5+ years experience.
* Thorough understanding of MySQL optimization and configuration
* Experience with open source development tools including bug tracking software, Zend Framework (or other PHP frameworks) and Subversion

* 24 x 7 on call availability.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Experience with system monitoring tools possibly including but not limited to Nagios, OpenView, Tivoli, Cacti, RRDTool
* Bash or Korn shell scripting knowledge.
